Post Offices around the world

Following the entry I posted about "Mailboxes" a while ago here it is one about Post Offices... Lovely Ana sent me several pictures from mailboxes and Post Offices in her country, and I thought that those pictures of Post Offices should be posted and shown to the world as well as those of mailboxes already are. Only because of the effort of taking and sending the pics the contributors deserve to have these pictures posted here.

As you know, every national Post service uses a symbolic colour. Do mailboxes match the colour of the emblem of their national Post service?

If you feel like showing the world how the main Post Office of your city looks like it would be interesting to see. Feel free to show/send pics of local Post Offices in your area as well, the one you always buy your stamps in or your favourite in your district!

The album is named "Post Offices around the world" and you can check it on the right area of the Blog, under "Mail and Pics" section.

If you are interested in participating, send me an e-mail enclosing your name/nickname, city where you took the pic and country you come from to: penpallingandletters[at]gmail[dot]com

Here is the link to the album where you can check the pics:

Mail trivia IV

Did you know that...

the "Penny Black" was the world's first adhesive postage stamp used in a public postal system?

It was issued by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland on May 1st, 1840 and for use from May, 6th that year.

Happy Birthday to stamps on their 170th anniversary!
